Upcycled Foods

Ingredients That Close The Loop

Reduce. Reuse. Upcycle!

Upcycling puts nutritious delicious food to its best use: feeding people.

Over 1/3 of the food we produce in the world is wasted, and with so is the water, energy, labor, and nutritional value.

We are passionate about upcycling because it is an opportunity to help the world do more with less and improve the health of people and planet.

Upcycling

is a challenge to reimagine an end as a beginning.

It is that “aha!” moment when your old climbing rope becomes your new dog leash, or when that empty jam jar becomes your favorite cup.

Food upcycling applies this mindset to what we eat. We look at what is left behind when making our favorite foods and see opportunity.

Upcycled Food

creates new foods from crops or ingredients that have already been cultivated, harvested, and “used.”

This is truly found food—meaning that all the costs and impact have already been absorbed, thus its reuse yields more from less.

This simple idea has grown into a movement that we continue to pioneer as thought leaders and champions.

By upcycling together, we can all do our part to reduce waste, eliminate food insecurity and conserve our planet’s limited resources.

We Were Co-Founding Members of the Upcycled Food Association, and independent industry non-profit formed in 2019. Check them out to learn more!
